Jatavia Douglas (She/Her)

Hello everyone!

 

My name is Jatavia and I'm so excited to enter my second year as Movers & Shakers Lead Guide!

 

My passion for serving children and families started at an early age and I am grateful to have experienced a variety of ways to serve and support families. I was born and raised in Waco, TX and moved to San Marcos, TX in 2012 to pursue my undergraduate degree at Texas State University. In 2016, I graduated with my Bachelor's in Family and Child Development which emphasizes the importance of family diversity. In 2018, I graduated with my master's in special education that gave me knowledge on how to properly assist families with multiples and families that have children with special needs.

 

I’m also excited to share that started my Infant Toddler Montessori training in June 2026. I look forward to deepening my understanding of the Montessori approach for infants and toddlers and learning how to better support each child’s individual development. I am grateful to learn more about creating a prepared environment that encourages independence, movement, exploration, and confidence. Most importantly, I look forward to growing as a Montessori educator and becoming more intentional in the way I guide, communicate with, and care for infants and toddlers.
