Ana Zapata (She/Her)

Hello,

My name is Ana Zapata, and I have been teaching preschool for a little over five years. I love fostering a passion for learning in young children! My favorite part of teaching is witnessing those “lightbulb moments,” the instant when a child truly understands a concept or discovers a genuine love for what they are learning. I am so excited to be joining Athena Montessori Academy! Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive, and I am grateful to become part of such a loving community.

I grew up in Houston and moved to Austin to attend Concordia University. While there, I met my husband, and we have now called Austin home for the past seven years. One of the greatest joys of my life was being part of a homeschool pod with a dear friend. The experiences and lessons I gained from that journey are something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

In my free time, I love being part of a good community group. I run a book club and serve as the storyteller for a Dungeons & Dragons group. When I’m not playing a board game, you can usually find me playing a video game or taking my dog for a walk.

I am so excited to be a part of your child’s journey and can’t wait to learn more about the Montessori world. I look forward to growing alongside your child and helping create a positive, engaging learning experience.
