Hello Athena Families,

I’m so grateful to have joined the Athena community! I have been involved in early childhood education for over 25 years and have worked in licensed childcare facilities for the past five. 

I was born and raised in Southern Colorado. I grew up in a really small town with a big extended family, and I always loved helping out and caring for my younger cousins and the children of family friends. So, as a teenager I automatically took on the role as the trusted and recommended babysitter. While attending college at CSU-Pueblo I started nannying, and that eventually became a full-time job that I adored. After about four years, I accepted a live-in nanny role. After a few months with that family they extended an opportunity for me to move with them to central Texas. I accepted and stayed with them for eight years. During this time, I also took on many volunteer opportunities to work with children at local libraries, Lakeway ISD, Hope Alliance in Williamson county, and Nephcure. Once I had my own little one, I started working in preschools, and that journey has led me here to Athena!

In my free time I love experimenting with cooking and baking, attending as many live music events as possible, reading, exploring where we live and any city we visit, and spending cozy moments watching movies with my family.
