Hello, Athena Community!

I'm so excited to be starting my second school year at Athena as the Primary 1 Lead Guide, alongside an amazing team. 

I have been working in Montessori classrooms since 2018 and completed my Montessori training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute in October of 2024. Montessori felt like a natural fit for me because it makes room for children to be fully themselves.I love watching them follow their curiosity, build independence, and take pride in what they learn to do on their own. 

Being around young children is a daily reminder of how special and fleeting this part of life is. Their funny observations and excitement over their discoveries bring so much heart to each day. I especially value helping children learn how to advocate for themselves, express their needs, and care for the people around them. Building empathy, kindness, and acceptance is an important part of our classroom community. It is a privilege to help create a space where children feel safe, capable, and known. 

I am originally from North Dallas and moved to Austin three years ago. I love Austin's outdoor feel and all the little places there are to explore. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, baking, and learning new things. Much of my free time is spent with my Boston Terrier, who is always close by. You can also find my partner and I bopping around Austin, swimming, and trying yummy vegan food.

I'm grateful to be part of the Athena community and look forward to another wonderful year with your children and families!
