Peyton Dame (She/Her)

Hello Athena Families,

 

I am excited to introduce myself as the new Assistant to the Director! 

 

A little information about me- I am engaged to my partner, Kyle, and we have one beautiful daughter, Parker. As a family, we enjoy listening to music and playing video games; we have introduced our daughter to our love of gaming with visits to Pinballz. Because our families are of different ethnicities and my fiancé has traveled to different countries in the military, we love to listen to all genres and languages of music. Our favorite thing to do outside of the home is to take walks on brushy creek trail and travel with our tiny dog, Alice, in tow! 

 

I began working with children when assisting my mom in volunteer work that she organized with Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children. We spent the summers teaching children who have disabilities and/or encountered hardships how to scuba dive! I took my first step into early childhood education at age 16 where I worked part time at a family friend's preschool and for the past ten years have studied and learned of my passion for working and growing the minds of young children.

 

While working as a director for an early childhood education center, I wondered if the stimulation of those populated classrooms were the best choice for myself and my family so I began my search and found Athena. I admire the values of Montessori as well as the respect I viewed each teacher and staff member give to the children and their families here at Athena. I look forward to seeing the impression it makes on my daughter and am eager to learn and grow with all of you!
