Hello Athena families,
I am excited to begin my seventh year at Athena and my sixth year as an Assistant Guide in Primary 4. This will be my 14th year working with preschool-aged children and I am filled with gratitude to exist in such an incredible community. I am super thrilled to share that I will complete my training to become certified in Montessori through The Center for Guided Montessori Studies - in October! I am so grateful to have Ms. Lisa as my mentor, and this school to support me!
Also happening in October, I am expecting a baby girl! I cannot wait to meet her. After my maternity leave, I will be back in the classroom and my sweet Phoebe will be in the new infant room! Thank you, Athena.
I grew up in San Antonio, where I attended Alamo Community College. Though I initially majored in Accounting, I was hired at a preschool where I fell in love with education. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2016.
Making an impact on children makes my heart happy. I enjoy Maria Montessori’s method and am jazzed to continue to learn in a hands-on methodology. I couldn’t be more grateful for my amazing lead guide, Ms. Lisa, and my incredible assistant guide, Ms. Lynda. The environment will continue to be full of love!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, creating greeting cards, painting, gardening, yoga, reading, spending time in nature, and watching basketball! I love living in Austin and plan to be here for decades.
I look forward to working with your children and learning and growing as their Guide this school year.
