Ani Robinson (She/Her)

Hello Athena families!

I am so thankful to be part of this amazing community! I am a Montessori certified infant and toddler guide and have been working in early childhood education since 2006. My role at Athena involves directing our school operations, supporting our wonderful guides in their important work, and helping to oversee our toddler program.

I am one of a family of six children and was homeschooled until college. I didn’t realize until much later that my education naturally followed an approach very similar to the Montessori method. My guide (aka mom) taught us about the things we showed interest in as we showed interest in them and then set us free to delve as deeply into learning as we wanted. If there was something one of us wanted to learn, she got us a book and let us teach ourselves how to do it. This unconventional education led me to a lifelong love of learning and a passion for helping to instill that in others. So when I decided to go into early childhood education, Montessori was the first and only choice for me.

When I’m not working I can usually be found at my karate school teaching youth classes, coaching the demonstration team, or furthering my martial arts education. I also enjoy reading, hiking with my dog, traveling, and embarrassing my teenage son in front of his friends.

I am thankful to have found a home here at Athena and I’m looking forward to the year ahead and getting to know all the children and families that make up this wonderful community!
