Joy Jacobson (She/Her)

Hello! 

I am Athena's Admissions Director and Registrar.

I grew up in a farming family in small town North Dakota. After graduating from The University of North Dakota, I spent several years working in the nonprofit space in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, MN. I landed at Athena shortly after making Austin my home in the summer of 2019.

I feel fortunate to get to use the business side of my brain and be surrounded by children every day, and I am so proud to work alongside this incredible team. Athena is a source of so much love, laughter, and growth in my life, and I am grateful to have the role of inviting people into our community.

When not at school, you can find me snuggled up at home with a book and my Boston Terrier, Birdie, at the movies with my partner, Ted, or just out and about enjoying our city. I look forward to getting to know you!
