Joy Jacobson (She/Her)

Hello there! 

I am thrilled to introduce myself as Athena's Admissions Director and Registrar.

I landed at Athena shortly after making Austin my home in the summer of 2019. It is a source of so much love, light, laughter, and growth in my life, and I am grateful to have the role of inviting people into our community.

I grew up in a farming family in small town North Dakota. After graduating from The University of North Dakota, I spent several years working in the nonprofit space in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, MN. Then I found my way to Austin. 

I have been mesmerized by Austin and its culture since the moment I first set foot in the city. It wasn't until I joined the Athena community, though, that it really started to feel like home. I feel fortunate to get to use the business side of my brain and be surrounded by children every day, and I am so proud to work alongside the incredible Athena team to make our world a better place.

When not at school, you can find me snuggled up at home with my Boston Terrier, Birdie, trying a new restaurant, or at the movies with my partner. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
