Tiffany Herrera (She/Her)

Hi Families,

 

My name is Tiffany Herrera and I will be assisting in Primary 3 for the 2022-2023 school year. This will be my 5th year at Athena and I look forward to working alongside Drew and Meghna.

 

Prior to Athena, I worked at the tourist attraction Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio where I spent four years. I gave tours and was a main lead in our sales department. I am originally from New Mexico, but moved to Texas about 14 years ago and have made Austin my new home. 

 

Growing up I always loved the art of teaching and enjoyed watching my teachers light up as they taught. I knew from a young age that that was what I wanted to do when I grew up. As I started my research on teaching and the different styles, I was very drawn to Montessori. Self-paced, hands-on, classroom integrated learning that helped benefit the child in both an intellectual and emotional way was really fascinating to me. When looking for a place to learn more about Montessori I chose Athena because I felt a bond right away with the staff and environment. Everyone is very kind-hearted, and they’re amazing teachers!
