Meaghan Ganucheau
My name is Meaghan Sanders and during the school year I work alongside Mandy Waid and Brittany Smith in the Primary 2 classroom, going on my third year here at Athena. I will be working part time this summer with Holly in the Primary 1 classroom.
When I first began working at Athena, I was very hopeful to find a loving community to be embraced by as well as a group of precious children to fall in love with. I was also hopeful to find a job where every day is filled with joy and reward. I am happy to say I have found all at Athena and am so grateful to those that have been a part of that great success. I am truly overjoyed to be at Athena, and I very much look forward to meeting you and your family and growing to be a closer part of this beautiful community.
I have always enjoyed being around and interacting with children, and their joyful, carefree spirits. Being around children has always made me happy. I wanted to give back to them and make an influence in their lives, as they have mine. I knew I wanted to pursue education and become a teacher.
I attended Texas State University and graduated in 2007 where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I became certified to teach Early Childhood Education to fourth grade. I gained a great deal from my experience in public school, but I sought out alternative teaching methods. I then moved to Austin and discovered Montessori at Primavera Montessori School. There I absorbed a great amount of knowledge about child development and Montessori philosophies from my roles as an elementary support, after school guide, and kindergarten assistant over the next two years. Based on the learning experiences I shared with the children, I knew I chose the right path. I look forward to continuing to follow that path and pursue my love of Montessori, and I could not imagine a greater place to grow than Athena, in a positive and nurturing environment.
Let me again say how happy and thankful I am to be a part of this lovely community and a part of your child’s learning journey.
Warmly,
Meaghan Ganucheau
